How Elevated Escapes Began

Travel and exploration have always been part of who I am. I wake up each day with a renewed excitement for planning the next adventure. Travel has shaped the person I've become — introducing me to different cultures, foreign landscapes, and some of the most incredible people around the world.
Every journey teaches humility and kindness. The more cultures I experience, the more I realize how much there is to see, learn, and appreciate in our world.
Where the Journey Began
My love for travel started early. I was fortunate enough to travel to Europe for the first time when I was just 10 years old. Even as a child, the experience left a lasting impression on me. Walking through historic cities, tasting new foods, and seeing the world beyond my hometown sparked a curiosity that would shape my life.
At 18, I joined the United States Navy, and that curiosity turned into a lifelong adventure.
26 Years of Global Exploration
During my 26 years of service in the Navy, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to over 47 countries and live in places many people only dream of visiting — including Hawaii, Japan, and Italy.
Each destination deepened my appreciation for the world. I immersed myself in local cultures, explored historic sites, and connected with people from every corner of the globe. These experiences strengthened my desire to continue discovering new destinations and sharing those experiences with others.
It was while being stationed in Italy that my passion for travel planning truly took shape. I began organizing trips for family, friends, and colleagues — carefully crafting itineraries that balanced culture, history, adventure, and relaxation. Before long, people began referring to me as their “travel ambassador.”
The Turning Point
After retiring from the Navy, I took a year to do what I love most — travel. During that time, I visited Mexico, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Vietnam, and Indonesia, continuing my lifelong pursuit of cultural exploration.
As 2026 approached, I considered returning to the corporate world. But something didn't feel right. Travel had always been more than a hobby for me — it was my passion and purpose.
So instead of returning to a traditional career path, I decided to follow that passion.
The Birth of Elevated Escapes
That decision led to the creation of Elevated Escapes with Nick, a personalized travel planning service designed to turn dream destinations into unforgettable experiences.
My goal is simple: to help people experience the world in a meaningful way. Whether it's an adventurous expedition or a relaxing getaway, I love crafting detailed itineraries that allow travelers to fully immerse themselves in their destination.
